At the City of David excavations in Jerusalem, archaeologists unearthed a <b><a href="http://www.timesofisrael.com/2700-year-old-hebrew-inscription-found-in-jerusalem/">2700-year-old Hebrew inscription</a></b> on a pottery fragment from the first Temple period.
