2013 2013 2013

Woolfest. It rained again. I didn't buy much. I wanted yarn and I'm convinced there were fewer yarnies there than in previous years. Only Baa Ram Ewe, where I finally got to meet the lovely Verity in person, Eden Cottage Yarns, one of my perennial favourites, and Natalie Fergie's The Yarn Yard* had stock that gave me knitter's goosebumps. And only on Natalie's stand did I find a skein that was bouncing up and down and shouting 'Buy me' ... 'Comiston', in a luscious petrol blue. It's a heavy laceweight, fibre content 55% wool/45% silk, and it is very lovely indeed. And it was all the yarn I bought!

Would it be churlish to complain about an over abundance of fleece and spinning equipment - is spinning the new knitting? - and needle felted animals at an event intended to celebrate all things woolly? Thought so. Will Yarndale be where it's at for northern knitters in 2013? It may well be!

Add to the above dissatisfaction a spectacular Woolfest photo fail - I know, I know, call myself a knitting blogger! - and the whole thing becomes something of a non event. You'll just have to make do with a sheepy sketch of sorts instead, and news of the giveaway winners!

Rafflecopter has it's own inbuilt random number generator, which came in handy given that there were an amazing 292 entries ... no way was I writing that many names on little slips of paper! In fact I'm thinking I'll use the Rafflecopter widget again just so long as you liked it? Do please let me know.

"But who won?", I hear you cry ...

Cassy
wins the Cozy Memories bucket**,

and

Sarah of Crafts from the Cwtch
wins the India Flint Eco Dyeing book**.

I'll be emailing you both shortly.
